Before photography, I was in bands. I grew up inside a scene, not looking at it from outside.
When the bands stopped, I wanted to stay part of that world. The camera was how I stayed in it. Then it became the work.
I photograph people in their own world. Athletes, musicians and artists, and local businesses in Hamburg. On commission and on my own.
I don't work from fixed concepts.
I'm already in the room.
